Anyone know how to disable the little popup/balloon type dialog box that comes up everytime a print job has been sent to a printer?
I do a ton of printing and it drives me nuts seeing this stupid message telling me that "this document was sent to the printer".

I'm using XP SP2.

Is this printer a network printer. it sounds like it is probably a network printer on a windows NT 4x server.

if that is the case the dialog box needs to be turned off on the server.

Sounds like the print spooler is maybe an NT 4.0 machine? (This might work on others but I only am sure it works on NT 4.0 server)

If it is go to the spooler machine:

Open the printers folder
Click on File - Server Properties
Click the advanced tab
Uncheck "Notify when remote documents are printed"

Hope that helps.

note:
The printers folder can be found in the control panel. Just open it from there, (or from my computer) and the go to the file menu and you should see a new option called "server properties"

Cool..i'll check it out. It's actually a win2k server...but i'm willing to bet there's a similiar setting.

No...that option wasn't checked on our server

Don't know if you got your problem resolved or not. It seems to come up when you install SP2 on XP. The last response was close but instead of going to the printers folder on your server, go there on your local machine. Go to file/server properties/advanced tab. Uncheck the box that says "Show informational notifications for network printers". I had the same annoying problem and this fixed it.
