Brand new 20GB Apple iPod, 4th generation with new Click Wheel

5.6 ounces
2.4 x 4.1 x .57 inches
Apple Earphones
AC Adapter
FireWire cable
USB 2.0 cable

Looking at completed auctions on eBay in the past week, the 20GB version is going for $290 to $325 shipped. Asking $285 shipped. Even if you are a student, the 10% Apple discount will bring it down to $270 + tax, which totals to over $285 at 5.5% tax (it's higher here). But at any rate, let's not argue about the price! $15 off, and I'm including insured shipping!

of course! Although for reselling purposes, it makes no difference where it comes from. Could have come from Best Buy.

freeipods.com units have lately been coming engraved with the URL on the back of the Unit.

So...it might make a difference to an unassuming customer.

It might be good if you add that disclaimer.

Hmmm... do you have any references?

If so, that's a good idea.

They did for awhile. I'm pretty sure the newest shipment which Ski looks to be a part of no longer has engraving. I might mention it but i am pretty sure it is not engraved.

Also, it might have something to do with the fact that this shipment came from Shanghai, China, instead of the earlier ones which were domestic.

At any rate, if you're planning on putting a case or skin over the iPod, you won't see it, even in the odd chance that it has an engraving.

They can engrave at the factory now. I know because Apple Taiwan / Apple China are big clients for my dad (works for http://www.rofin.com). His company is used for making all the engraving markings in the back of Ipods as well as the Mini; as well as alot of the internal markings.

I'm not in the market anyways. I get a cutrate discount because I work for HP.
I was just giving you a heads up just in case.

Heck I don't care what it says on the back. I didn't even know you could get a "free" iPod and just signed up. I don't want to sell it...I like free stuff. Especially expensive stuff that is free.

Okay, so I might pay in junk mail and email, but I don't care! :)

Poor, poor Iowapilot. Are you familiar with pyramid schemes?

Yes, I am quite familiar. Most of the ones I had seen before I had no way of verifying that they actually worked. This one seems to, so why not?

Hey ski screw it, If you cant sell it wait till best buy (or other company) implements their no reciept return policy then blamo, you have the original cost (299) plus tax back to you on form of store credit. Only works if you dont mind store credit, but htis way you dont have to worry about the engraving thing because I doubt they would open up the box and check and see the engraving. If they did open it, ask to speak to the manager because they opend up your brand new ipod then refused to accept the return making it not new.

I'm lazy, so here's an article (http://www.billpalmer.net/ipodgarage/ipod000158.html).

And here's a way to calculate how far down the pyramid you are (http://www.homepage.net/pyramidcalculator/) (and thus determine how unlikely it is you'll ever receive an ipod.

I work for HP also, but it looked like we don't get much of a discount from the EPP. Is there something I'm missing?
