i'm on a hunt for rather obscure cartoons that people may have taped from tv (i WILL have my angry beavers!!!!)... kazaa has nothing. is there a really good place i should be going? i've come up with links to "download billions of movies!" places that cost like $20 a year, which i'd be happy to pay if i knew they had what i wanted... but i cna't search til i pay, and i don't like that...
any suggestions?

WinMx is really good. I've been able to find just about anything on it and it contains no spyware unlike kazaa. Oh, and you don't need to pay for membership

Don't mention DC++ without providing a good server address. That's just dumb.
I use Ares Lite (http://www.download.com/Ares-Lite/3000-2166-10288301.html).

i've tried them all...ares lite probably has the best user interface
i didn't like winmx at all, and DC++ is kinda complicated to get started...at least, i never spent the time the try (too busy)...

why dont u do a google search for DC++... I thought u guys were smart but you proved to be dumb....Anyway
Here is the link http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/
Its pretty complicated to configure but I can help you...
So you install DC++ and if you got a router, you have to do port forwarding or put in passive connection.... IN dc++ there are hubs and each hubs got requirements say 15 gigs to get in to that hub... I get into a hub which got the highest number users but I got around 115 gigs of movies, games, music... But there are many hubs... To get 215kbps or higher, DOwnload from a T1 or T3 guy... So what if guys dont want to share... THere is a problem called Netlimiter and can you limit the bandwith in that... I m not sharing cause they suck my bandwith.... The hubs are pretty smart and if u try to cheat, u get kicked out easily.... Hope this helps.... If u need help, AIM=josh64fx, MSN=

my friend was telling me about Trusty Files. i havent really tried it, maybe 1 or 2 times total, but he's excited about it. he says it searches for files on the kazaa network, and i think on imesh and some other p2p networks also.

I like bit torrent myself, but you need to have a fast upload in order to get a fast download.
For a pretty comprehensive comparison of the different file sharing methods, have a look at http://www.slyck.com - they are probably the best resource for outlining & explaining all of the different tools & technologies available.

everything about your post and your name screams "I'm a 14 year old 1337 hax0r"
WL, try torrent if you're looking for tv shows. Sometimes you can also find them on IRC (www.ircspy.com or www.packetnews.com). In either case you'll need to download the client software to connect. Google for bit torrent and/or mirc.

i'm doing pretty good with the torrent and suprnova so far... everything i've gotten a hold of so far is very high-quality, not a bunch of crap to sift through like on winmx... i'll check out the bearshare, ares lite, and trusty files soon... like, after i figure out this whole re-encoding-and-dvd-burning mess... :P thanks!

i heard bit torrent was good for tv shows, but i tried it for other stuff ... was super super super slow for me
i only use DC++ now. the downside is that it IS complicated to setup, but TONS of people to choose from, and sometimes you get lucky with fast download.
