This morning I think was one of the worst of my life. I was going to work this morning and saw a guy laying on the ground. . .I got out of my car and he wasn't responding at all. So I called 911 and did cpr until the ambulance arrived, but he was pretty much already gone. :(

Makes me sad to think that he was just going about his daily business and he just collapsed. Wish I could have done more to help.

On top of that one of the toes that I had surgery on is really bothering me, so I have to see next week whether I am going to need surgery again.

On the bright side, I figure anyday you can get up and move around and love your family, life is good

do they think the guy had a heart attack or what?
i'll bet his family would be grateful to you for trying to help.

i had a friend who saw a random stranger fall to the floor in a porn shop. he did CPR on him to and it was to no avail. what an ackward place to die.

i'll bet his family would be grateful to you for trying to help. Agreed. CPR is not pleasant to administer to anyone, nevermind a stranger. That was impressive, Emqtee. Hell I'm impressed that you got certified in the first place (you are certified, right? Big no no if you aren't).

And just what were you doing in a porn shop anyway, Nickel? :hmm:

everyone who thinks they would even remotely try CPR on someone should at least have one of these rescue breathing barriers in their vehicle at all times. i do. my boss got us all heavyduty schields after our last CPR recertification.

Yep, I am certified. . .Actually recertified last week. Never thought I would need to use it so quickly. I will spare you all the gory details but I didn't have anything to use as a barrier.

Nickel, I am not really sure what happened after I left. The ambulance was there and they couldn't get a heartbeat. . .probably either a massive heart attack or stroke or something. I guess there is always hope but I seriously doubt they could revive him.

Thanks for all the support! I know I did my best but I just feel so bad for his family.

Nice Avatar Emqtee, I like it! ;)

WTG on trying, I don't think many would, so kudos to you!

I hope that your toe feels better soon, and no more surgery is needed. What did you have done? I've had ingrown toenails removed, and I'd rather give birth than get those shots in my toe!

Ya like my costume? ;)

About 8 years ago I broke a seismoid bone in my toe. Then proceeded to walk on it for awhile. Cortisone injections didn't help at all. Developed an ugly old bunion from all this so my doctor opted to do surgery. Took out the piece of the bone that was broken, fixed the bunion and put a screw in my toe to hold it in place. Now it is giving me a lot of pain again and swelling. My family doctor referred me to see orthopaedics on wednesday to see what the verdict is.
