I think this is pretty big news, mostly due to the price (19,800 Yen -- or around $190 US). Considering the Nintendo dual-screen had the same price both here and Japan (around $150 US), this is very sad news for Nintendo (and good news for us).

More details can be found on IGN's Site (http://psp.ign.com/articles/560/560947p1.html) (it was either this, or Gamespot for now -- sorry if you get ads when you click the link at first).

Also, it's expected to have between 4-6 hours of battery life (in other words, about what I expected). Extra batteries WILL be available though (but I don't know about an external charger).

GAM, this needs to be moved to the games forum.

As for the PSP, I'm excited that we'll get it soon. I might get this as well as the DS, which I have already preordered.

However, that short battery life scares the crap out of me. 4-6 hours means 3, and that's not even laptop life. Why do I want to play a handheld that needs to be plugged in?

Watch Nintendo attack Sony's battery life right now in a frenzy.
