The new PS2 has been out here for several weeks. I saw it at the local WalMart.

what??!! what the **** were they advertising then? i saw a bunch of posters saying something about nov 11th. then again i can't read japanese very well.

I didn't think that they were going to be released until November, but they just showed up. I haven't seen any advertising about them being available. I wonder if WalMart screwed up by putting them on the shelves early?

Can the new PS2 be modified?

I remember back in the day the 9000 version PS's had anti-mod circuitry and lacked certain ports

The new one can be modded with (as far as I know) the DMS4. However, they're worried about heat issues.

As for the 9000 series.. i think they overcame that. I've got a v.9 that i can play my backups on fine.

ive seen ads here in the states but the workers said their location has not received any yet
