So it was pouring down rain today when I was parked in the school parking lot waiting to pick up Josh. I noticed he came out about 3 minutes early, a lady walking with him carrying an umbrella. He gets in, she comes up to the window.

Turns out they got a note in class on Monday while he was gone to the dentist. A kid in his class has headlice and she found one on Josh today. :(

So off to buy the special shampoo and laundry out my ass here I come.

Fun. *sigh*

Oh, luckily tho, she didn't see any eggs. So we think she caught it early. yay.

Ouch. Head lice sucks. No one in my immediate family has ever been infested with it, but my cousin was once. Hell to get rid of.

yeah, well, luckily it sounds like we caught it early. So HOPEFULLY once we wash everything and treat him, it'll be ok.

But I talked to my dad, who is a vet, and he said to wash all 3 cats too. Oi. :(

Oh man, as if dealing with the usual head lice steps weren't enough! Take some pictures!

Ok, so we talked about it. After cutting Josh's hair and not finding any more bugs or any eggs at all, then looking at Scott's hair, and kind of looking through 1 cat's, we decided that he must have picked up that bug today. So we didn't give the cats a bath. ;)

We went ahead and cleaned the house, did all sorts of laundry, etc, so we should be ok.

Ewwww. Can't say I know anyone who had it when I was a kid. I remember I had a really big knot on my head from hitting it on something during recess and they happened to have lice inspection that day. I remember getting teased because they called 2 people over to look at this bump on my head.

I remember one time in elementary school, I was sent home for head lice, and it turned out to be dandruff. Not my proudest moment.

That sucks. Is everything getting bagged up? Hope all goes well.

At least it isn't pubic lice.

Hehe yeah, we cut his hair using a #2 on the trimmer. :)

Everything is washed & ready to wash. ;)

Head lice is so common now in grade schools that if you DON'T get it you're in the minority. I know when my kids were in school -at one point they had to close the entire school for 3 days to "bomb" it with pesticides because so many kids were infested..
