Any opinions on the best book or online resource available to learn Adobe Photoshop?

Thanks . . .

The Photoshop Bible pretty much is the "end all" book for Photoshop...

When I had a class in PS 5, this is the book that they used as the textbook.

Right now, Photoshop is up to 7... so here's a link to the current book on Amazon:

Looks like it's best to buy it new for $28 shipped... it'll be this plus tax at stores.

I just downloaded and installed the Photoshop Elements 3.0 free trial and am trying to figure some of it out too. Does the retail version come with some sort of instructions? Probably get that. The complete Photoshop is a few hundred dollars more than I am willing to spend right now. Photoshop CS is replacing Photoshop 7 I guess.

If you want to do Photoshop type editing without paying Adobe prices, you might look at Paint Shop Pro (http://www.jasc.com/products/?) - it's been around almost as long as Photoshop & does probably about 90-95% of what Photoshop does, but it only costs $130.

Or, if you don't mind running a version behind, you can get a free copy from these guys. (http://www.freegiftworld.com/gift.html?nopop=1&ADTGID=1561&xid=0&CID=39217&SID=KE55378)

Or you can run the GIMP which is almost as powerful as photoshop and its free. Its from the Linux camp and is THE image editing software package for Linux. It was recently ported over to Windows and I use it at work.
