So I sent in my Radeon 9800 non pro, it was working fine except for a fan that had stopped spinning. They sent be back a 9800 PRO under warranty, except it seems to be running a lot slower than the 9800 non pro. For instance C&C Generals sometimes crawls along at just a few FPS, where before I could run it at 1600x1200 and get fine framerates.

I think something might be physically wrong with the card. I realize companies don't sent out new hardware under RMA, they send out "refurbished" hardware. My thoughts are that someone who had this card previously damaged it in some way, maybe by overclocking.

By the way I just reformatted this weekend and have the latest drivers installed. I am getting 1995 points under 3DMark05 with the following hardware. Please let me know if this is a good score for the hardware I have.

P4 2.6GHz
1GB DDR400 RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO

Thanks guys,
Brian

Did they drop ship it? My Radeon 9800 pro has artifacts, and I need to send it back. I never OC'ed it. I'm willing to send it back just not willing to be without a comp, as I don't have another gfx card.

Oh I had the same problem. What I had them do was ship me the card FIRST, and then I ship my card to them after I have the new card in hand. In order to do that they need a credit card on file so they can charge you in case you decide not to return it. Just say you want a card cross-shipped when you fill out your RMA form.

Thanks alot for the info. Maybe this won't be as painful as I thought :)
