SSSSSSSSS: Broken Arm

Friday night i went & got some ice cream & quarters to do laundry. on my way backm on my scooter, i lose my balance, fall and break my right arm in the middle of my forearm. had surgery ti replace were it shattered, to line the two bones back up in there o.g. places.

this sucks. the drugs succeed in making me sleepy, but not really doing anything w/ the pain. vicden ain't its all it's cracked up to be.

on the + side: i don't get 2 work for a min. of 2 weeks :)

my followup appt. is 11/23.

the doc was having me take 2, i was in this constant state of semi-conciousness. i've knocked it back to 1 every 4 hour w/ advill for the swelling.

Do you guys think my teachers will give me some leeway? i have an eassy due on thursday (500 words) on it takes me forever 2 type. (this post took 3 minutes)

Nija - sorry to hear about your injury. I would think that your teachers should be understanding....its not like you are going to break your arm and have surgery just to get out of an assignment. Right!?!

Now you just need to send someone out to get Dragon graphically speaking (I think thats what its called) so you can just talk into your computer and it will type for you.

and Damn! Just talk to your teacher. They may have some suggestions. I'd dictate it either into a tape recorder or straight to someone that can type it for you. :)

actually, the dr said he was going to have to mess 1 of them up. 2 incisions and one was right in the middle of the large 1 on my 4arm.

i just got back from applying for disability. dr says i'm gonna b out 4 about 6 weeks. yuck

Glad to hear you're doing okay and able to post on the forums. Ask for Demerol if the vicodin isn't helping :)

You need to get yourself an adult tryke...that way you will NEVER loose your balance..maybe if you're lucky-some old veteran will give you some kind of flag to put on the whip antenna -you'll be the coolest boy on the block. Feel Better.

I guess its time for you to go for a marathon DVD viewing session. Blockbuster has that "deal" whereby you pay $14.95 for unlimited rentals per month (2 at a time) with no return dates/overage fees. Figuring you are out of it for a while, that might be useful information.

That sucks man. I heard Vic and alcohol has a strong effect, but I never did feel it :shrug:. I totally agree that Vicoden doesn't help much. It dulls the senses, including the pain which it doesn't seem to erase.

Just rest easy and let it heal properly man. :cheers:
