I'm looking for a good deal for a sound blaster live... doesn't really mater which one, the x-gamer, mp3, or even platinum... just looking for the best deal... the platinum is available at Onvia for $166 and use a coupon to get 25 off, so 141 + free shipping... computers 4 less is offerring the x-gamer for 76.99 + shipping which is one of the lowest I've seen... any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance...

Check out http://www.computer-x-press.com/
They have SB live value for 36 bucks and shipping is 10 dollars if I remember it correctly. You have to tell 'em to change the price 'cuz you're from pricewatch.

I was hoping for the x-gamer, mp3, or platinum... don't really like the value... it just sounds so cheap...

The Value version is identical to the GamerX and MP3+. The only different is the software bundle. You don't need to pay the extra dude.

They all use the same chipset except platinum has this fancy control panel thing you install on the CD-ROM bay. By the way, the value card on computer-x-press does have digit-output.

Thanks, think I'll go with the value edition... don't really need the software, can barrow it from my friend if I really want it.

I just ordered one of these for a new system. Use the $30 off $150 coupons from techbargins. Not a bad deal w/ the coupon once u add something else u need to push it to $150.

Also, the platinum is only 155 and with the coupon it's like 135 which is a really good deal for the platinum... CompUSA has it for like 199... I'm thinking about the Platinum now...

Actually, there is a difference in the MP3 and Platinum versions. The have hardware MP3 encoding. Supposedly speeds up encoding 3x.

actually the MP3+ is the same... no difference... it just has different software, same board, same chipset... different name etched on it, but they are all Sound Blaster Live Cards...
