520GB of storage, 35k's worth of RPM's, 3 drives. What does LK get to review in the next weeks?

Lucky you. I'd love to even get ONE of those 146GB drives (15,00rpm). I should ask though -- how loud are those things?

I haven't hooked it up yet. G|A should beat several sites to the punch to review the Savvio 73GB 2.5" 10k, 300GB 10k.7, and the 146GB 15k.4.

Can I borrow one of those after you are done with them? Thanks.

No I mean borrow... I'll return once I have no use for it. ;)

Hard drive benchmarking must be tedious and un-fun.

Rolf, quite. It took 3 hours to format the 300gb drive...
as a whole benchmarking isn't the most thrilling thing to do. Running each one 5 times, record, rerun...
Its like owning a Lamborghini but only being able to rev the engine with the occasional drive through the mountains. Not that I am complaining, I love what I do.
