I bought some Two Way Radios this summer. I looked around quite a bit, I finally bought mine on ebay brand new. It cost me around $45 for the pair I think. They weren't Motorola Talkabouts, but they work great and the reception is very clear. I also bought a battery charger on ebay for $8 which charges alkaline and NiCad batteries both. You might want to look into that too. I would start with an auction site. Good luck.

Try http://www.andysgarage.com Really good prices on two way radios. I bought similar radios about a year ago and hooked up an antenna to one of them. My friend also hooked up an antenna and we can hear each other very well. By the way, he is ten miles away!Obviously, that is not legal but it is possible.
