Your menu looks really good. We're having frozen turkey dinners from "Banquet".
I'm not sure if my mom is going to be up to having a big dinner this year, so we will probably do a potluck. I'll make the turkey and stuffing, as well as a pumpkin cheesecake and the rolls.

my parents are finishing remodeling their kitchen this week, so next week i think my mom is going to go even more nuts than usual. mom makes something along the lines of Obby's dinner, so you can bet it's worth the 400 mile drive up to the Bay Area.

No clue: I might have sold my car by then (anybody in NYC area looking for a car? I got a reliable sedan, old and a bit worn on the outside but runs great, been well taken care of where it counts. Haven't done my research but wild guess from $2K to $4K...), and if so may or may not take a train all the way up to Springfield. But whatever, a typical Thanksgiving at my house these days would look sokmething like this:
1 Turkey, probably in the 15 lb. range
The most ass-whuppin stuffing on earth. Mom gave me her recipe and I can reproduce it for ANYONE who has doubts
Mashed potatos
Green beans cooked w/ a touch of liquid smoke
Sweet potato casserole, or maybe just sweet potatos this year, since we're all trying to lose weight this year :heh:
creamed onions
cranberry sauce (lately I've been volunteering on this one, since I like 'em homemade and Mom doesn't need any more work)
Biscuits
wine if I end up going
Now mind you, we've toned it back a bit in recent years since its usually just me, my brother in Boston, and the folks attending. Back in the day, when it was the folks, all four brothers hitting their eating stride, and Grandma, you'd have to:
replace that bird with a 23 pounder or so, and double at least all quantities of above items
add more antipasti type stuff like:
green and black olives
dill and gerkhin pickles
celery sticks spread with cream cheese and sprinkled with paprika
throw in a couple pies (almost almost always pumpkin and cherry) made by Grandma
fresh butternut squash grown at grandma's that summer and autumn
Asparagus

My moms is making the traditional Turkey dinner which is yum but nothing too spectacular. I however am looking for a good brew to take up and share with the adults. Anyone got any suggestions? I was thinking the Sammy Chocolate Boch.

My holiday menu, as posted by Boston Market....
Same idea here. It looks to be just me and my girlfriend this year. Too expensive to fly across the country for that short of time.
I'll probably get something from Boston Market and then make some other dishes myself.
i'd like to cook a turkey and all that but not worth it for just 2 people.
Me and my friends are having a pre-thanksigiving thanksgiving on Sat anyways, so we can all do something together before everyone goes off to their families.
I'll be making my chocolate chunk pecan pie.
