I've recently had some problems with rebates being processed by (appropriately named) wheresmyrebate.com, where they refuse to honor rebates (where the form says to submit a copy of the sales receipt) by saying that I have to submit a copy of the confirmation email and packing slip. (On the first one, I had both these, which I faxed to them. I saw today that my $80 rebate has been approved.) Yesterday I got a second wheresmyrebate.com refusal on a $50 rebate for a Samsung laser printer that I recently purchased from Office Depot. Unfortunately, I did not have the packing slip or confirmation email (had a hard drive crash) for this item. I called Office Depot's main number yesterday evening, and they told me to call the corporate office today. So today I called their HQ, and was passed to a customer relations representative. She was fantastic! She looked up my information, etc., and asked me to fax the information I had submitted to the rebate company. About 5 minutes after I sent the fax, she called me back and said Office Depot would issue me a check for $50. (I assume that they will be taking up the issue with wheresmyrebate.com and/or Samsung, which suits me fine because I want the vendors to realize the way that wheresmyrebate.com is operating.)
