Is there a way to convert an HTPC into being a "Media Center XP" PC?

Most Media Center PCs are preloaded, but is there a way to do it yourself? And if so, are their specific requirements to make it work?

Only certain TV Tuners work with Media Center and you also need to have a Media Center remote.

Nah... I was specifically looking for the Media Center.

My HTPC is currently running WinXP Pro... however it would've been nice to get the Media Center interface on it if possible. :D

I don't think you could buy Windows Media Center through a retail store.

You can find the software for sale at a lot of sites online, like here:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?DEPA=0&description=32-102-311&ATT=Software+Operating+S&CMP=OTC-d3alt1me

According to the site, you also have to buy hardware at the same time. I think this is probably due to requirements by Microsoft.

I wonder if there is a listing somewhere of all the compatible video cards for this?

Edit: Never mind... I found the list: http://oem.microsoft.com/downloads/MCEReadinessCenter/MCE_Approved_Components_for_MOSB.xls
