I kid... I kid. Just because he's gone doesn't mean we have to stop the unprovoked violence right?

Oh I wish I had a data cable for my phone b/c I was going to post a food picture along the lines of this thread. I went to a Chinese Market today and I took a picture of a sign that said "Pork Uterus 2.39/lb". Mmmm...yummy....pass the placenta please.

I've never ordered it, but I'd eat it. Lion is as arbitrary a meat as cow, pig, chicken, or turkey. I will eat any meat that is edible and cooked properly. I look forward to trying snake, dog, and any other meat someone is willing to serve. I love meat no matter what the animal.

Not so. We tend to not eat predatory animals, since obviously, they are impossible to domesticate. And no one would argue the qualities of domesticated meat is much different than non-domesticated. Eating other predators always has been and always will be considered abnormal.

ShawnLee, remind me to never go shopping for a puppy with you.... :)BM, I've only had it in Korea proper, so it's likely it won't happen. Unless you want to go to Korea, but in that case, don't wait on me, I'm sure kimchicowboy would be willing to show you.
Don't worry IAHAD, I differentiate from pets and the meaty-dogs. Either way, I rarely eat it, meaning two or three times in my life.
Abnormal usually equates to expensive. $25 for lion meat doesn't seem expensive to me at all. Draw your own conclusions.
Also, anyone find it strange that they sell this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00032ER40/qid=1101021829/sr=1-15/ref=sr_1_15_gf/104-7987942-1688742?v=glance&s=gourmet-food&n=13652101) on Amazon.com?

Maybe because the lions eat more meat, I don't know. This was so much juicier than the panda tacos I had last year. I would highly recommend some lion burgers on the barbecue this Christmas.

Not so. We tend to not eat predatory animals, ... Eating other predators always has been and always will be considered abnormal.
mostly because they taste like CRAP. what the animal eats matters to the taste... that's why you hear ads for "corn fed beef." anyway, if it eats meat, it tastes every bit as good as... mutton. in squid ink.

hey, I'm all over rabbit. it tastes good.
Canta, you make an interesting point about predatoryvs non-predatory animals. i've never though of it that way. you should come over so we can discuss this over a cheetah stew.
seriously, we (mankind) eat shark, snake, and gator with some frequency so I think the predatory thing is not so true. wild meat, IMHO, tastes better than farmed meat. ever look at the price of mild caught salmon vs farm raised? it's much more expensive but much more flavorful.
meat, you're damn right it's what's for dinner.
