what is the MAD dog rebadge from the VD card and the Burner?
I have purchased a maddog dvd burner because the price was unbeatable through officemax. When I installed the burner the computer reads it as NEC ND 2500a, so far no problems burning anything.

Wow, I just spent some time going through these deals! I'm getting a little too excited a little too early in the morning...
Anyway, does anyone know when these stores are opening on Black Friday?
I'm particularly interested in opening times for Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, and CompUSA. How early am I supposed to line up and what am I supposed to do if there are things I want at all of these stores?! :D

Usually they all open at 6-7am. At Best Buy here, even though they open at 7am, you have to get there by at least 5am if you want to be one of the first 200 people. Which is why I stopped going to BB on BF. It throws away several hours getting into the store and then almost as long or longer checking out.

Just a thought, can we order online for in-store pick up on BF? I remember the talk about long lines to get in and longer lines to get out.
I was even thinking of getting to either Best Buy or Circuit City at 4 a.m., but I'm not buying a TON of stuff...

never posted before, but had to add this funny story...
...i went to best buy, staples and circuity city to pick up flyers for BF. circuit city and staples were happy to hand me a flyer. best buy howeer, said they had them, but they wouldn't give me one. the told me to get one out the newspaper tomorrow, i told them i don't get a daily, and they said too bad...to which i replied, "Well I guess I'm one of the 100 million customers your CEO was talking about. Maybe Circuit City wants my money."
i enjoy the logic...don't let me see the very item with which you are trying to lure me to your store
if they only knew how much I spend on electronics every year. unless they have a can't miss deal, i probably won't ever go there again

me neither...last year was a good year. ive seen some things that were cheaper LAST year, like that back ups at best buy was $5 last year, same exact model is $20 this year. A few other examples of that, too. DVDrs are cheap this year though!
IlBill
11-24-2004, 10:19 PM
Last year's UPS (I bought one) was a 350VA, this year's is a 725VA. I last year's video card last year was a 9600 (or 9600SE) for 94.99 with a $25 mail-in rebate. This year's is a 9600XT for $199 with a $100 mail-in rebate.
I want a better deal on a nice HDTV.

11-24-2004, 10:38 PM
I'm not too crazy about the deals posted so far. The only things that catch my eyes have been the 17.77 box sets at Target and some more at BB. I may stroll out to Target but I definitely won't be the early risers - if I don't get the deals, oh well, I don't think I'll be missing out on too much this BF.
ialsohaveadream

Target has the best stuff, mostly because of the DVDs. But still there's not much to impress me. I'll probably pick up a memory key for myself. :)

The thing that is really missing for me this year is an item I'd REALLY like to have. There were a few such things two years ago, there were only a couple last year, and none this year. This year lacks excitement.

That's exactly what's happening with me, last year and the year before there were items I really wanted, most of which are still sale items this year, but I don't need them. They haven't changed many of the items.
Does anyone know if some of the CompUSA deals will be online? I don't have one local and they've got about the only item I'd want...
