Proview PL713S - Good deal?

Does anyone know anything about the Proview PL713S on the deals page? I can't find out anything about the response time or a review or anything except the basic specs.

Specifically I'd like to know the response time and maybe if the contrast ratio is good enough for gaming...

i got the monitor on black friday at staples. It's a pretty good monitor i guess. the only game i had an opportunity to test it on is HL2 and CS:S there's no ghosting at all, at least that I can tell. Viewing at 800x600 and 1024x768 is pretty good as well, it scales suprisingly well for the price. The only problem i have with it is that it doesn't seem bright enough. It's a lot brighter than my CRT, dont get me wrong, but its not as bright as my girls (hers is 500:1 contrast ratio 320 cd/m2 vs 450:1 and 260 cd/m2 with the proview). other than that it's a good monitor. Im gonna return mine though cuz i gotta new job, so I'm gonna get a 19" LCD w/ a higher contrast ratio, brightness, and hopefully a lower response time.


i give it a 8.5/10 definately worth the ~$200 i paid for it. I took off points for the brightness, it's vertical viewing angle could be a little better, and when the looking against a dark background, theres a faint light around the edge. I don't know if this is normal for LCD's, but it just kinda distracting to me (being picky here tho).

Well thanks for the info, sounds like some minor quirks that would bug me after a while :). Guess i'll wait for a Dell 2001fp sale again.
