I was looking through the Newsgroup alt.video.dvd and read this post. If he is serious, he is definitely WAY out there :2far:
I have contacted the Bush administration and personally filed a
complaint against this newsgroup. In accordance with the Bush
policies to make America more moral, it was brought to my attention
that the name of this newsgroup is extremely offensive, and this group
must be removed from the internet. This is due to the fact that the
name of this newsgroup contains VD. Everyone knows that VD stands for
venereal disease, which is a sexually transmitted disease. In the
process of cleaning up the morals in America, this newsgroup will be
removed. Additionally, all DVDs, DVD equipment and all advertising
associated with DVD must receive a name change, or be entirely banned.
The initials DVD can no longer be used in a moral America. It's time
this country look into family values and clean up all the smut in this
country, which includes, but is not limited to the use of the initials
DVD.
On a final note, I do not want to deny anyone the right to talk about
movies on disk. Therefore, as soon as this newsgroup is removed, I
would like to propose that another newsgroup be created and
appropriately called alt.video.movies.disk.
