Good times: Saw some old friends for a movie
Extreme Low and very suckage: Slipping on wet steps while putting up some wreaths-and doing something funky to my hip which is not allowing me to walk correctly..yeh, and it hurts like hell too.
Low- snow, and lots of it,
So many Highs...seeing my fave cousin on Thanksgiving, sharing a bottle of wine with him and my siblings while playing texas hold-em, teaching my very lds sister how to play poker, even though she took all my money, the SUPER cute stranger who shoveled my driveway last night, leftover stuffing, christmas tree lights, homemade oreos!
Obby, I hope you feel better soon!

high - spending time with the folks, of course! And my mother's sweet potato casserole!
low - finding out my mother has hypothyroidism. Each of these little niggling health issues serves as a reminder to me that my parents are approaching old age, and will not be here forever. They've both had serious health problems at different points in their lives (my mother, a heart attack about 15 years ago. My father, a car wreck and botched treatment that put him in a coma for 3 weeks, and kept him in therapy for a year learning to walk again.), and I worry about their mortality. My mother has four sons and no grandchildren. I vowed never to let my family pressure me into that enterprise, but lately I've been placing that kind of pressure on myself every time I think about it.

high - hanging out with a bunch of my good friends at a dinner party friday night, just talking and laughing (and watching basketball)
low - trying to get home from another friends' house at 8:00 am sunday morning, in the middle of driving rain and crazy wind gusts, not being able to get a bus, and having to wait forever to get a cab. then being exhausted all day as a result of staying up the whole night.
(however, the lions' 41-9 drubbing administered by the colts on thanksgiving day was pretty low too)

haha...that was a high for me. sorry!
you bastard! :bawl:
:)
(i actually like the colts a lot -- they're one of my fave teams that atually wins -- so i wasn't terribly disappointed that they beat detroit, particularly since i had ABSOLUTELY no thought that detroit might win. but if the lions offense could have pretended to be competent, that would have been nice.)
High - meeting more of THO's family and hitting it off with her other sister (no, not like that!); going to the new Air & Space Museum and seeing lots of cool stuff, including the Enterprise; finally being able to say I've been to Intercourse, PA.
Low - TOO. MUCH. DRIVING.

hi: all the family made it, and got to hang out with lots of really good friends.
low: mr adhd the 200-lb martial arts instructor and resident spaz kicked me in the shins... and man, that boy just doesn't know how to play nice. ow. golf-ball sized purple knot...
and yes, i deserved it :P
Low - having to work out more in lieu of all the good food/drink
so you didn't have ANY of the good food and drink, and just worked out instead? wow. that's willpower.
so the good food was the hi... but you didn't even eat any of it... so it was a hi... becasue it motivated you to work out more, or what???
methinks we have a potential miss hardbody usa among us.... ;)

huh?
it wasn't... meant... to be... insulting...
working out is good. being surrounded by good food and not touching it is more willpower than i have. by a lot. it was noteworthy enough that i noted it. thassall.
if anything, i was being self-deriding... cuz i sure as heck don't deny myself good munchies or workout, unless you count the occasional bout of dragging around writhing pissed off 23-lb dumbbells :P

ahhhh, road head.
you didn't drive right through it, did you? i usually make prm pull over so we don't get in an accident, at least.
cheapie
11-29-2004, 01:35 PM
is it techically road head if you pull over? isn't that just parking?
welfareloser
11-29-2004, 01:37 PM
well, if most of it goes down on the road (pun intended) and you just pull over at the crucial moment of mind-blowing, i'd still call it road head... but semantics bore me. :P
