REI - Sale Before Xmas?

Does anyone know if REI typically has a sale prior to Xmas?

We are buying a bike for our daughter and it drives me nuts to pay retail.

Online they have some deals but nothing on bikes....and it needs to be local pickup anyway as they charge $60 to ship a bike (YOW!)
