Hi, I'm house and dog sitting in Phoenix for 2 weeks. Two great danes, and two kitty cats. The danes are HUGE! I promised not to eat them if they promised not to eat me :)
Any, I don't know anyting about Phoenix, so if anyone can suggest places I can go, good bars to chill out and meet people, I'd appreciate it. I'm currently in Mesa, btw, and it's beautiful. Thanks.

Go to Mill ave near ASU campus. Lots of good bars etc.
Get a carne asada burrito at Filberto's.

Thanks. I'm getting up there in age (27ish), so I don't want to hang out with the college kids (no offence :)). Would Scotsdale be better?

Hard to say, without knowing your interests. Mesa has a reputation of being a quieter place, and hosts a lot of snowbirds (retired folk that come down for the winter). Tempe Mill Ave is fun, but it is more a younger, college crowd. Scottsdale might be more your age group, but if you venture from the bars and go to the clubs, you can see why it is nicknamed "Snottsdale" :)
A couple of bars to go to that are more casual would be Martini Ranch and Dos Gringos in Scottsdale. Both are in "bar strip" locations so you can mosey around to a few places.
Hope that helps!

Ooh, Puh-hoe-nix.
I was almost there this past Saturday. Instead, I turned around at Winslow on the 40.

...Martini Ranch...
I used to go there a lot when I lived in Scottsdale. Didn't think it would still be there. There was also that trendy place of Camelback and 24th. Can't remember the name of it. Lots of fake boobies liked to hang out there. :D
