I'm not sure what benefits I derive. Groupies are usually girls and Roadies usually do actual work. I'll just be a "friend of the band" I guess and use that to get invited to the parties where the groupies are.

Voting ends Wednesday at noon. The only reason we are worried is the other band are pretty shady. They have a script set up which goes to Purevolume.com and plays their song once per second 24/7 so it looks to record company scouts like they are one of the hottest up and coming bands in the country. I wouldn't put it past them to "magically" get 500 votes in the last few hours of this competition.

but wouldn't someone realize it is fishy when a no-name band gets around 86,400 plays per day on a single song? i mean, there are some famous bands that probably don't get that kind of traffic to their streaming media. but i agree with you, you never know what they could do with voting.

People do notice it. But at very least it gets you notoriety which is still publicity after all. Fall Out Boy did the same thing and now they are famous, so I guess its working.
