I have a DLink AP and my Friend has a Linksys AP. They are both 802.11g. Our houses are 200 yards apart and there is a house or two between us so we do not have line of sight. We want to each mount an antenna on the outside of our house so we can bridge the access point and play LAN games and share files. I found a page with a bunch of antenna's, but I dont know what i need.
What is going to be required in bridging the two AP's?

well you could start by getting a wireless bridge.

you may want to consider getting some linksys boosters too

Don't bridge your connection - you'll spend an arm and a leg for a wireless bridge.
Get a high powered unidirectional antenna, like the cantenna - you can buy (http://www.cantenna.com/) one or build (http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html) one (http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/PringlesCantenna) yourself. Before you start down this road, make sure you have a WAP with a removable antenna - lots of consumer models don't.
Mount the cantenna on the outside of your house & point it at your friend's. Now both of you can log on to the same WAP & game away. You will probably want to set up some authentication on your WAP unless you want your neighbors in between you guys to play as well.

Doesn't the unidirectional require line of sight or no? If I am understanding you correctly I might just need to get one of these, I do not need one for both of them. If I put it on the side of my house my friend could just log onto my network with his card. Or would he need one on his end so there was enough power to reach back.
Both have removable antennas.

I highly doubt that a D-Link AP is gonna communicate with a Linksys AP... from my past experience with both products.
I tried to go from one Linksys AP to another Linksys AP and couldn't even get that to work reliably... much less than toss "D-Link" into the mix.
Well good luck for trying...

No, you don't need line of sight - it just concentrates the signal into a single direction rather than spreading it every direction.
Depending on the signal strength, you may only need one on your house, but if his card isn't very powerful, he may need an external antenna on his wireless card as well.
