ram question

is there a specific mac ram for a powerbook G4 or can i buy just a standard laptop ram?

I bought 512 for my 12" on crucial and I have had no problems at all. A buddy of mine bought a stick of 1 gig on outpost for $160 and hasn't had any problems.
