So I was just talking to my boss, who is bit of a computer geek himself, and I mentioned that I was looking to pick up one of those USB key drives like he has. Just shooting the breeze really and he says this to me...
"You should check out this site Got|Apex. They usually list some good deals on them"
:eek3: :| :spock:

I was telling my mom about some of the deals on here, because she's a HUGE fan of the overstock sheet deals, and I told her about the current "ask Overstock for a coupon" thing.
Then I realized she could easily figure out who I was in the forums, and then find out what her Christmas gift is! D'oh!

That's scary. It reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where the different aspects of George's life were meeting together. He referred to it as his worlds colliding.

"You should check out this site Got|Apex. They usually list some good deals on them"That was his not-so-subtle way of saying "I know you're wasting your time while you're supposed to be working, and I read all your posts, so stop it or you'll get fired!"

yeah, merlin (much like myself) is not very deep undercover here. anyone who knew us IRL would pretty easily identify us.

Hi Merlin's boss!! :wavey: By the way, you should check his desk. He has several bongs and a blow up doll in there. Wear gloves.

I see it as an excuse to be here "Well, boss I was just here like you told me to be, just uh, checking on deals and stuff...."

Dude, I've had many a moment like that involving G|A. It's actually one of the reasons that I was so hidden away while lurking for a couple of years.

I don't think there was any hidden meaning. He is more the type of guy who would just say what is on his mind. In other similiar discussions we've had in the past he has mentioned fatwallett, tomshardware, sharkeextreme, and several others. It was just odd to hear him throw out this name. I guess given enough time it was bound to happen. Just a pretty surreal moment.

It's scary how many people I have referred to this site. Thank goodness only one or two of them look at the forums. The rest of them are just here for the deals.

i feel that. i think some of my friends would pick me out of this crowd in a second, but luckily they just stick to deals.

Hmm maybe we should tell Merlin's boss his secret desire to see him dancing around in a thong?

well, unless he regular tells you that he "wants your sweaty body" then yes, there is probably something he needs to tell you...
Oh man this thread's hilarious. Thanks for the study break everybody.

This is why you dont create a thread saying....Gee, my BOSS just told me about this site. Anyone with half a working brain could figure out if you were talking about them/with them.
