I am absolutely freezing!!! What is wrong with the weather this year? Honestly, its not supposed to be 46 degrees in San Diego at 1pm (yesterday) and I had to turn on my heater yesterday and today. Brrrr.

46 degrees? That would be sooooo nice right about now. :)
I'm staying inside, since it's TWO degrees Farenheit here -- TWO DEGREES above zero!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

i loved living in michigan. i walked 30-40 minutes in several feet of snow to and from work every day in the winter... a good pair of columbia boots, a down coat, and it's comfortable, beautiful, and great exercise.
i miss the snow. here in central illinois, there is occasionally a good snow, but it's mostly just cold and icy and windy and sucky.

I have to agree. I also live in San Diego and it's been getting into the high 20s to low 30s at night where I'm at. I've had my heater going for the past week and wearing a parka everytime I have to go outside. Of course, I was born and raised here so anything below 75 degrees is freeking cold to me!

To add insult to injury, I was talking with my sister after my last post....she was complaining that it was cold at home. I asked her how cold it was and she told me mid 60's! I am sure that the fireplace is probably roaring there too!

I'm in Poway as well. Having worked in MN, ND, MA, South Korea, Germany, etc., etc....I will not ever complain about San Diego weather, no matter how low it goes....for a week or so. I love it here. Even today, I went for my daily walk with no jacket....just my usual short-sleeved shirt.

michigan winters are miserable, imo. there really isn't that much snow a lot of the year, unless you live on the west side of the state. which means that there is snow, then it sits there for weeks, melts down into ice, and turns brown :(
oh, and the sun never shines.
it's really miserable here in NY right now though. cold, rainy, and windy. just my kind of weather. :rolleyes:j
i wish my GF wanted to move to california.....

I live in San Diego now, but I grew up in Colorado. Cold weather here means too cool for shorts (unless you are further inland or in the "mountain" areas). There we always got a week in January where the high would not get above zero and yes (I am not making this up) I did walk two miles each way to and from school in it. But not barefoot. It is a dry cold which is definately different from the damper cold you get in the Northeast- that will soak into your bones. You do learn to dress properly and deal with it. A sixty degree day there this time of year was warm- here it is cold! Storms would come through, but it usually warmed up in just a few days and that helps deal with it too.

It's been in the 70's here for the past few days, with high humidity. I hope it cools off (consistently) by Christmas.

yeah, the weather has been kinda crappy here lately, but really people in CA don't know how to take the cold. about 3 weeks ago it was 65F here in Pasadena and I saw some girl walking around with a parka, beanie, and scarf like we're in the freaking north pole or something. i walked by her in my shorts and flip flops completely bewildered.

I'm ashamed to know that line. :disa:

i loved living in michigan.

It's great. I love the cold weather. I'd much rather be cold than too hot... it's so much easier to warm up than to cool down.

you are so right. thankfully i live on the west side so we have a decent amount of snow. BUT we don't get to see the sun for months at a time. literally. i'd rather live further north where the snow sticks and you don't get the freezing and thawing.
winter in michigan is depressing. i can take the cold. in fact, give me 25 over 37 anyday because 25 is snow and 37 is miserable drizzle.
right now it's 48, pouring rain and the wind is supposed to gust up to 50mph. phreaking sucks.
I love the snow, as long as I don't have to shovel it or drive through the canyon.

It's been pretty mild here in Western Minnesota. No serious snow yet, still green grass in our yard, and about 30-40 degrees each day. I'm getting kind of anxious to hop in my snowblower, tho.

I've come to realize that I really like the cold. I have fond memories from recent trips in cold weather. London last November. Turkey last December. Many years up in the snow skiboarding. But I love CA too much to leave, at least not over the weather.

wait you are complaining it is 46 out? urge to kill rising....
Blah. It was miserable here in boston yesterday, not super cold, like 30-40, but it was just nasty rain all day. And this weekend it was about 20 at times. This is just the start of it all. Last year we had weeks when 0 degrees was warm!
Damned californians... cali doesn't have winter :P

When it's warmer in NY than Los Angeles, there are problems. Especially since my Heater is not functioning to it's fullest. My apartment feels like an igloo at night. My neighbors no longer need a refridgerator... they just stick their food in my bathroom. COLD. GO AWAY!

yeah, I've talked to several friends who have just now realized that their heaters don't work. in SoCal we've rarely needed them in the past few years. one friend I have turns on his gas oven and opens it up to heat the downstairs of his house while is waiting for the gas company to come out and check his furnace.
