Yup, I get to give a 45-minute presentation on high-altitude physiology later tonight. Luckily my senior project isn't due until next semester, although I have a handful of EE/BME finals coming up in the next two weeks.

Sounds like most of you are wrapping up school already, mine's not over until the 20th.

I'm done on the 20th, but don't have anything between 13th and 20th. I have three labs to complete in the control systems course, though, and will probably be in lab during that week to get those done.

Gave a presentation last night and handed in a paper and took a final today. I feel slightly better about where I am now...

*Monday @ 8: My awful Honors Psychology class. MUST do well.
*Monday @ 10:30: My pretty awful Ethics class. An A would be cool, but I'm good either way
*Wednesday @ 12:30: My awesome Sociology class. Should be a breeze, and I'd have to fail not to get an A.
*Friday @ 4: Microeconomics. Solid grade, awful professor. Should be alright.

supporting yourself in the real world is a lot less stressful than trying to support yourself in college... and i'm having much more fun raising kids than i did in college ;) playing calvinball in the backyard til the lightning bugs come out is much more satisfying than drinking cheap beer in a basement apartment or smokey (smoky?) bar. (so anyway... it's just not all downhill from here, is all. unless you marry the wrong person :P )

good luck to all! try to get some sleep.

I actually believe that college can be sort of rough. The uncertainty of "life after college" would definitely create a lot of stress for many. There are no guarantees in the job market. I am positive though that the student loans still need to be repaid.

Good luck on the finals. I don't envy you.

once you get in the "real world", not much from college "really applies" alot..
Honestly, I had a degree in Chemistry.. don't remember a dang chemistry, don't use dang chemistry..

Wonder how much that is for other people with their majors?

THE NIGHT BEFORE FINALS

Twas the night before finals,
And all through the college,
The students were praying
For last minute knowledge.

Most were quite sleepy,
But none touched their beds,
While visions of essays
Danced in their heads.

Out in the taverns,
A few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor
Would loosen up their thinking.

In my own room,
I had been pacing,
And dreading exams
I soon would be facing.

My roommate was speechless,
Her nose in her books,
And my comments to her
Drew unfriendly looks.

I drained all the coffee,
And brewed a new pot,
No longer caring
That my nerves were shot.

I stared at my notes,
But my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went ablur,
I just couldn't study.

"Some pizza might help,"
I said with a shiver,
But each place I called
Refused to deliver.

I'd nearly concluded
That life was too cruel,
With futures depending
On grades had in school.

When all of a sudden,
Our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put It Off
Ambled inside.

His spirit was careless,
His manner was mellow,
All of a sudden,
He started to bellow.

"On Cliff notes, on Crib notes
On Last Year Exams.
On Wingit and Slingit
And Last Minute Crams."

His message delivered
He vanished from sight.
But we heard him laughing
Outside in the night.

Your teachers have pegged you
So just do your best.
Happy Finals to All
And to all a Good Test.
