Does anyone have any recommendations on a good HEPA air cleaner? I am looking for something that will clean a room that is about 150+ sq ft. And it has to be quiet enough to have in your bedroom but it does not have to be super quiet. I have noticed that most of the HEPA air cleaners are very similar so I need some input from people like you that have experience with a HEPA air cleaner.

TIA for any recommendations.

:)

rarely do anything important except maybe take a bit of dust out of the air.

That is why I want it, to reduce my allergies.

electrostatics has absolutely no fan, so it's quiet.... but the dust is right on there sitting in the open. i dunno, i feel like there's a cleaner feeling when dust gets trapped in a filter.

I have a whirlpool one that i have in my bedroom...it's ok. not the best, but it was under a 100 bucks and it was quieter than all the others they had at lowes then.

It's not great at even removing dust and you mentioned that you wanted it to be HEPA which by definition (I think) removes things above a certain microscopic size.

We use one of these (http://www.shaklee.com/product/55102) in our home. Many people have reported allergy relief from using them.

Note: I realize that this product is sold through a multi-layer marketing system. I'm not trying to sell you anything - just letting you know what we have.

Just take a 24hr Claritin everyday.
It'll take care of your allergies inside and outside your house.
I don't know of any HEPA filter devices that can do that.

Claratin only works so-so for me.

I appreciate everyone's input. :)

attgig - thanks for the recommendation :)

I usually just wear one of the biohaz/hazmat suits everywhere I go but I was hoping to be able to take it off while I am in the house. So, in order to do that I need a HEPA air cleaner and a decon room. :P

If you move to Japan and do that, nobody would bat an eye.
