Does anyone have any experience with an aftermarket installed cruise control? If so, what does it usually cost? Is it a difficult install? Do any of the major retailers, who do car installs (e.g. best buy, etc..), do aftermarket cruise control installs?

My friend's stereo shop installs them for dealerships.
I have no idea what the cost is..I'd suggest you can a reputable stereo shop in your area and see if they install them.

Yuh, something about liability. That is why he knows a friend, some people will only do it if they know you. Anyway, who needs cruise control, that is what bricks are for :)

Yeah...I've installed two over the yers. One had a magnet on the driveshaft (a lot more accurate) for an rwd car, and the other just measured/maintained throttle position based on engine speed for a fwd car. Hooking the line to the throttle isn't that difficult in most cars, but be sure you have vacuum access.

The newer aftermarket one don't need vacuum access b/c they don't use the vacuum system.

Nice. Vacuum leaks are a pain.
