I know to stay away from Brother. Their drivers are really horrible.

I have an older HP all-in-one. It works great.

HP all the way. ofcourse dont get a lamemark (lexmark) printer. Epson is alright as far a quality, but HP is the way to go.

Lexmark will eat up ink like you won't believe. HP is definitely the way to go

I'm in the same boat. I scrolled down the Dell order page for my 8400 and just picked their AIO Inkjet 942 'cause they "recommended" it. But after doing Cnet, PC Mag, PC World and About.Com research, I put the brakes on the Dell (Lexmark?) 942 but quick... rated Fair 6.8/10, and lacked some key features important to me.

Most replies here encourage the HP products, however, the Canon MP390 Inkjet Printer earned Editor's pick or high marks ($100-$200 range) on more than one site...

Here's just about all of 'em...

DarkFury asked the key question... ? budget. Determine it's primary use. Also determine if you need fax capability. Might also think about a feature that's imperative to me... the fax and or copy function is "stand alone" (without computer input). Do you want an automatic document feeder? Check ink usage and refill costs as well. It's no secret that the real $ is made off the supplies.

Good hunting!

coming from an ex-best buy employee in the computer dept...IF you really have your heart set on getting an Alll-in-one i'd say definatly go with the HP...their products are by-far much more reputable than any other manufacturer in that class.

too be totally honest, IMO i'd wouldn't get an all-in-one...they're just problematic

:stupid:

An all-in-one will preform so-so on most of its functions. Scanning will be sketchy, printing will be OK, faxing will work. But if you want GOOD output (like printing or scanning photos), stay away from the all-in-one.

However, if you DO decide to get one, like everyone else says, HP is the way to go.

I love my Canon MP730 multifunction. Great ink prices, 4 separate bays for four different colors (more cost effective), an ADF, and overall good software. I researched into comparable HP/Lexmark/Brother models but could not be happier with this one.

With some deals at Staples you may be able to get these around 250.

Here is what the B&M Stores have on sale this week: http://www.salescircular.com/ca/computer/allinp.shtml
I have an Epson which does a pretty good job, but if I was to get another I would definately look at HP.
