Okay, I'm looking to get the Monster Y-splitter adapter, but does anyone know the size of the female end? I know it says that it's 1/8" female, but does that translate to 2.5 or 3.5mm?

Also, has anyone had any experiences with the iTrip plug-in module?

Thanks! :)

If you are planning to use the iTrip in your car, it works quite well -- as long as you can find a clear frequency. In major cities this can be a problem, but at least the iTrip lets you select any frequency on the FM band (quite a few others limit you to only a few frequencies

I have to disagree. Unless you live out in the boonies you will never get a consistently clear reception by the iTrip. If you want fm quality music from your ipod, get a cassette adapter. Other than that, find an attahment that allows audio in for your receiver. Usually you can do this by getting an adapter and using the jack for the 6cd changer.

To answer your other question, the female end is 3.5mm.

I agree with verve on iTrip. In the metro Boston area I have not seen a frequency in the entire FM band that's actually worked well. It may be an expensive setup but going through your head unit's Aux input will give you the best SQ.

So I guess the iPod male end for the OEM headphones is 3.5mm, too?

I guess that means I've got another pair of headphones coming my way! :)

Yeah, I was thinking about going with the cassette adapter, but I'd like it to be as mobile as possible. Heck, I've got a wimpy FM Modulator now with only two presets and it's holding its signal pretty well.

I've got the Belkin FM Tunecast II. It doesn't have a big range. In the car it works well within 3 feet of my radio. At home it just plain sucks.. It does have the whole FM range to choose from but I usually keep it at 88.1 or 88.5
