If onvia ever gets their shipment of ProphetMX cards (which I'm going to guess will be awhile to satisfy their backordered list) it will cost 131.84 shipped

I desperately need a new video card right now I have a 2mb one.
I think Hercules Prophet2 MX 32MB AGP is the best price/performance deal I found it on www.micropro.com (http://www.micropro.com) for 129 can anybody tell me if it’s a good deal, or if you know of a better one.
=> any help will be appreciated

Any card based on the GeForce2 MX chip is going to be a great value for 3D performance. 2D is supposed to be acceptable, not a Matrox but not bad.

I believe the LeadTek card is less expensive but it is only by $10 or so. The previous Prophet cards have been very good so I'd expect this new one to continue the tradition.

Short answer: Buy it.

Which one is better though, the Geforce 2 MX or the Matrox G400 MAX?

That depends on your needs. The GeForce 2 MX is a great 3D performer so if you are a gamer, that's the way to go. The G400 MAX is an outstanding 2D card so if that's your bag, choose the Matrox.
