Im so in love with this thing, its rediculous. My friend just bought it, and he taught me how to drive it. And after a couple runs, i had the basics down. Now everytime i see a bike, i think about how i want one..

Yea i know most pple dont learn on an R6, so i just started in 2nd gear each time as an extra safety. I know theres a lot of Moto lovers in here, just wanted to share.

i don't ride and i don't know much about bikes, but that one sure looks nice and sleek. just needs a sexy woman in a leather outfit riding it and it would be perfect. :thumb:

the previous R6's blue color was awesome, but dang, this looks HOT in that black-ish color.

couple friends of mine learned how to ride on 600cc's. i called them suicidal [one of them is on his 2nd bike now]. i'm sure there is more than 1 colorway for this new R6, but is this black or closer to gunmetal?

looks black, they grey appears to be a reflection of the white background.

Wow, seeing that bike, looks so light, like you cuold just blow it over with your own breath. Dont forget it would be complete unless it had the FAF liscense plate (Fast As F^$&)

If anyone is trying to learn how to ride a bike, try a 250cc bike (ninja maybe) first. I had to be soooo careful everytime i touched the throttle, it wanted to just throw me off. I dont reccomend learning unless u already know how to operate a manual car. If you really want to learn get this bike:

Where can you get one new for $500? I had a 89Ninja 600R that I learned on brand new. Even though it was 600CC it had like 85HP so it wasn't bad. The new high end 600's have like 160 which is too much to learn on. The motorcycle safety course is your best bet as they tech you all kinds of turning and handling techniques. Its even good for someone who has been riding for a while.

I have a 1994 Honda VFR750 right now. Gotta love the V4 sound.

Well, you have to know someone in china who will buy one for about $320.00 american, then u dissasemble it, and ship the parts over. Pain in the Arse. But its worth it if ur Poor.
Yea i would reccomend the class as well, but if ur not in college, its very very expensive. Or take it at a Community College

In NJ it cost $125 for ANYONE if you are in college or not.... Most places are like this too.

that's about the price in CA at a lot of the junior colleges. most of them even provide the bikes too.

yeah i took the class back in august right before my 21st birthday so i got the $150 price. it's $200 if you're 21 or over.

my boss is on the list to get a new 2005 r6 one of these days. so i'm sure i'll take a spin or 2 on it. yayyyy

Outstanding program, it will make you a better rider no matter how good you think you are. I used to instruct with them. The fee varies by state, but in Ohio where I am, it is $25. Can't beat it, not for us providing the bikes and you getting the great instruction. A lot of places even give you an insurance discount afterwards. After taking the basic, sign up for the advanced, where you bring your own bike.

For some reason in california everything is more expensive.. But yea This weekend i was driving that ghetto looking red china bike around, and im getting a lot better. i think i might take the class so i can pass a test. Community college charges $150, and you take the test at the end of class to get ur liscence. Its worth it to avoid the DMV

Absolutley it is, especially here in Ohio, where the exam is still based on 1960s moto standards, where everyone had a 125cc. I've seen guys who have ridden years dump Harleys on the test. The dirty little secret here is you can use a scooter if you can get a hold of one to pass, once saw a 75 year old guy do it. What happenes here is a lot of big bike riders just get their temps renewed every year instead of having to fight the dmv's test.

If you do the weekend classes, you'll have a 5 or six hour Friday night class, classroom only sets of written and video instruction on bike anatomy, saftey, dui info, etc. Sat and Sun will be 8 hours a piece in the saddle. That's my fav time, you take 12 people, some of whom have never even been on a bike before, and by Sunday afternoon you have them riding a figure eight, with them meeting at the middle and doing their own crossing/avoidance work, and not having an accident as they wiz by each other.

Its funny how random pple come togeather and end up friends in these classes. I still party with some pple i met at traffic school.. But yea Riding an R6 is humbling, and riding that red chinese thing (pictured above) is dangerous. You get cocky. Not good

you guys crack me up...

yeah, the new R6 is nice, but i dont like it as much as the 01 - 02 versions. However, it does have FI and is a bit smoother than the older carburated bikes.

Here is my buddy pimpin my bike up in a "12" at a walking pace. Later on that day i had him scrape some fresh marks in the tailpipe by draggin it on the cement for a split sec. (the pipe touches before the tailsection). He competes nationally.

truth is, we consider the 600's to be the lowest of true sport bikes. Yes, i still ride a 600, but its because of money issues, and because i love showing up the guys on the faster bikes with my 600. A 600 will do everything a 1000 will do, and sometimes do it better except for top end speed. Were talking over 150 actual mph (i.e. reading about 180 on the speedo).

I just put a friends G/F on my bike sunday. she had never ridden one before (only as a passenger) but DID know how to drive a stick shift well. I gave her the 3min break down of what to do and not to do, and she did perfectly. If she can handle a 600, then anyone can. She's only like 120lbs.

All it takes is a calm composure. if you tend to panic in pressure situations, forget it.

Ur right, as long as you dont stiffin up, and twitch like you have to go pee really bad, then u wont get hurt. Im personally just intimidated by the sport bikes because all i hear is "its not if hes gunna crash but when.", and "do u know what we call biker boyz in the ER?!?"..... So u gatta understand it takes some guts to jump on. my other friend who doest know the concept of manual kept holding the front brakes and the accelerater down, and he dumped the clutch, the bike stalled and he fell over.. It was funny, sad but funny.

wow those bikes are beautiful. i've only ridden a rancing bike once, and it was awesome.
we get those crotch rockets riding up and down our block all the time
i've heard if u fall when going 180, a good thing to do is keep shifting your body so nothing gets hot lol

Its all about your riding skills. I know a guy in North Cali that rides a Ninja 250 that can outrun the R6's in the twisties because he is so skilled on one of those bikes. BTW Here is a new pic I took of my Honda VFR750 today.

yep, its all about skill. i have fun playing with the liter bikes even on long straight runs... most of them are scarred to go over 150ish anyway, which lets me keep up easily, and then throwin down into the corners... well, they think cause they're on a liter bike they're the sh!t, right untill the little 600 blows past them.

and to think i'm probably a fairly poor rider compared to the "slow" guys at an amateur road course.
