Insane skimboarding pic...

I know most of you couldn't care less, but when this pic was posted today my jaw dropped. Definitly the best skim pic I've seen in a while. The rider is Paulo Prietto, who is the 2nd best skimmer in the world.

Anything you can do on a surfboard you can do on a skimboard, and then some.

Check the guy's face... either he can't believe he's so tubed, or he knows he's about to decapitate his buddy with the camera. Really tough to control the board though... no skeg. Also, a problem if you fall close in... lots of sand in your mouth, split lips, broken noses, chipped teeth, concussions... everything a kid needs to grow up RIGHT!

i think you throw it down and ride out towards the wave rather than paddling out and riding in with the wave. but i've never done it so i'm not sure. i've seen other pictures (that i think Canta posted) of skim boarders out in the waves.

Yeah, you run towards the on coming wave and glide out to it then either do an olly and launch and air off the wave or wrap it and ride it back into shore, which is what Paulo did above.
