NSS: A rebate Actually Came

I sent the $100 rebate on my LCD off and after 6-8 weeks had passed I pretty much figured I wasn't going to get it. Open the mailbox today and BAM there it is. Late, but this is definitly the best time of the year for it to have come if it was going to come.

Sweet. I got a combined $100 in rebates back in April or so. Very cool when they come through.

Wow, you guys seem far too accepting of the idea that rebates might not come through. I've never been stiffed on a rebate, and I've received several hundred of them over the past 10 years, over $1,800 in 54 rebates in the past twelve months alone.

I never give up, I keep calling and moving up the company ladder when I get resistance. I once had a manager at Kodak personally send me a check for my $10 rebate to get me off his back. I don't have to do this often, only about once per year.

Honestly, I've gone "accountant" on my rebates..

I have a spreadsheet that I input all my pending rebates in, the amount, the date of submission and the farthest time expected back.

It calculates approximately when the money should be coming back and I include the info from the original rebate of who to contact should I not get my returned money.

So far, this system has worked really good for me. :D

yeah, I don't think I ever get stiffed on a rebate. i don't do as many as kb0wwp, but maybe 10 or so every year. i just keep them in a folder marked with the latest date the rebate should arrive. i've never had to get crazy to get a rebate either.

I never buy things because of the rebate, I only stuff thats already cheap and then consider the rebate icing on the cake. I've only been stiffed once on a rebate and that was two years ago, but since I only get like 3 a year its still fresh in my mind.

Congrats Canta. Getting rebates in the mail for me is like finding twenty bucks I left in a jacket last year. I forget about them until they show.
