i swear it's true. it doesn't matter how stupid the item is. anything in my gramma's attic is worth some insane amount of money.
i've just about come to the end of it... only a few really stupid items left. i am now ebaying her old makeup compacts. you know, disposable little clamshells with the icky remains of disintegrating powder in them. 7 of them, all ugly and dirty, all from about 1930-1960. with two days left to the auction, there are 15 watchers, and it's at just over $20. from my extensive experience, 90% of the time, whatever the auction sits at 2 days beforehand... double it, and that's the final price. (and the other 10% of the time? 2% of it, it doesn't budge, and that's the final price. the other 8%, it more than doubles.)
so just because some batty old woman forgot to throw it away like everyone else on the planet, it's worth some money... because it is rare. and it's now going to sit... in someone else's attic.
but hey, i get their $40. oh well...
my point: if it's worthless, thow it out. but if your mom or grandpa forgot to throw it out, list it on ebay. it's like getting paid to throw it out. :D
