The best thing I got (not necessarily the best deal) was a new digital camera I bought this week. I used a $45 off coupon on a 15% off Minolta Dimage A200. List was $799 so it came up to be $635 plus taxes. I love this thing- 8mp, swivel LCD, 28-200mm equivelent zoom with anti-shake. Over 100 pictures in the first week and they are fer better than my Nikon 4300 which I thought took pretty good pics. And it fits in a fanny pack so I can still carry it everywhere. Gorgeous pictures!

Yeah, the $750 off $1500 for desktops with a free 19" LCD was unbeatable. You have to love it when you get a computer with a great configuration already and you're thinking 'What else can I add to get the price up $200 so that I can use the $750 off coupon'.

My friend and I each got one of those. :D

I also got in on the $750 off $1500 laptop deal but I didn't get what I wanted (the 700m) because I was late (undecided on what to get). I ended up with a 600m and sold that to my co-worker.

I don't know if it was this year or last year (2003), and technically it was from the forums and not the deals page, but my only purchase from here in recent memory... was the FootAction tent sale. Two pairs of shoes and some basketball shorts for like $35 total, and my friends bought like 20 pairs of shoes through it.

It was actually last year deal (October 2003) but most of us didn't get the drive until late 2003 and the rebate in 2004. The $200 rebate was nice...

Actually, "most" of us didn't bother because we knew the order would be cancelled (which it was.) We just never expected Dell to reinstate the orders and honor both rebates!

I ordered a 2005fpw from Dell (ultrasharp 20.1" widescreen LCD).
Retail $799 - 25% (dellf) - $45 (stackable coupon)
then they said they couldnt ship before chirstmas even though the rep said they would. So they are upgrading my shipping to overnight (when they get into stock) and they are refunding $50 to my CC. Final Price...
$799-199-45-50 = $505 w/overnight shipping!!!!

i can't remember any ONE deal standing out above all the rest...but to say the least, there have been a whole bunch of coupon codes, and printable coupons, and discount links that i've used from G|A that collectively, is worth more....

i think it was last year, but i got in on the dell 17" planar lcd for ~$300 (i think) dropped down from ~$500

absolutely. the $750 off of $1500 was the winner for me. that deal was on 10/19/2004. that is one of the best laptop deals let alone no-hassle Dell deals I've ever seen. it was open for an entire day actually, but most people only caught on at the end making it a mad rush in the evening.

I have to agree... this was by far the best. However, with the various rebates offered after the debacle, Dell and WD screwed up and several of the people where I work got double rebates. So they were actually paid $175 to take the 200 GB hard drive. WOW!

Wish I could have got in on that $750 off $1500 deal. Waited too long and the 700M was no longer available. I always remind myself that deals aren't so good that they will never come around again. I'm wondering what financial forces sparked Dell to run that huge string of deals in October and if that is a yearly occurence. I had been following prices since December 2003 so I don't know if this is a 4th quarter thing.
