Pictures will follow soon.
Current problem: Forgot to buy a flash card, and my sigma lens apparently needs a chipset upgrade to work, so now i'm getting error messages left and right "err 99" it says... bastard.
I also picked up a brand new EX550 flash. So now i filled the void in my life with physical goods, however i am now incapable of affording lunch :(

I am SOOOOO jealous. I've heard nothing but good things about that camera. What type of photography do you like to do?
I've got a Panasonic FZ-3 that I've had for a few months. Nice camera with a good 12x zoom, but not even in the same class as yours. Have fun with it.

I am very jealous. I would love to have that sweet camera, but I could never justify it since I am not even a prosumer. I enjoy photography, but not enough to drop that kind of cash. It helps to have friends that are professional photographers though since they let me borrow gear.

Take some REALLY good pictures of OTHER people having lunch...or of your new car...that should help! :heh:

Sometime next year I plan to buy myself a digital SLR -- I've been taking a lot more pics lately, and a D-SLR would definately make a good upgrade. :)

Very nice . . . I was thinking about picking one up, but having to buy a new computer kinda put the brakes on that idea.
I'm thinking I'll get one - or something similar - sometime next year.

Sweet! I didn't want to go full digital SLR so I got a prosumer just below it that will also do raw, but I haven't tried that yet. The 20D would definately been one of my choices if I went that route. My Dimage A200 still ran me $650 after discounts. The higher cameras definately take better quality. I read that the 6mp SLRs are still better (but not a lot) than my 8mp, but it still blows my older Nikon digital away. I found a deal on a Lexar 40x 1gb compact flash for mine. The camera didn't include any but it uses the same as my old one so now I have backups too. It is the eye that still has to see the picture though. Congratulations!

It is about 8.5 megapixels and the picture card is probably larger than the one I have in mine so images will be a bit sharper. You can use different lenses which gives you more flexability in shooting as well as adaptability of the camera to your particular needs. These lenses are sharper and let in more light than smaller digital cameras so again you can capture a better picture. On the other hand, it is larger and more expensive. Just the body is usually around $1400. Canon and Nikon have been the top manufacturers of professional photographic gear. It is like a fancy 35mm outfit compared to a 110mm camera. Both take pictures- but there is a difference in quality. Digital cameras of all levels have increased quality to impressive levels, so the comparison is not as great as this exaggeration, but you get the idea.
