So I was watching some of the many movies I've missed out on recently and my brother comes out into the living room at 2 AM and asks if our dad is outside. My dad is still sleeping so my brother runs out and says, "The lights are on. I think someone's trying to jack our cars."
So we run out and my brother sees the guy leave. My car is fine sans radio. But still, that sucks.
Worse yet? He comes back at 4 AM. Chased him off again, but didn't catch him.

Was it an aftermarket radio? How expensive if so?

An Alpine. I bought the car off my friend so I don't know exactly how much but I think it's between $200-300.

That sucks. I hope you get a shotgun for christmas. The ultimate in Car alarm systems offered these days.

Lo siento. But seriously, given your taste in music, isn't it possible he was doing you a favor? ;)
Seriously, that sucks. Hopefully a good Christmas will make up for it.

Police report... or will they even do anything? Yeah, pretty much an exercise in futility anywhere. That's one of the crimes that irks me most, b/c it's all Cowardly and Totally Jacked! Oh yes, I've been where you are a few times. I gotta say, I share the overall attitude here. I also like the vigilante approach for these situations. Anyway... Sorry to hear it Man...

The inevitable question...
Did you have a car alarm on your car? If so... then dayum... you got hit by pros.
If not, I'd HIGHLY recommend you get one... just to discourage it from happening to you again.

well I guess you get a new one from the insurance company no?Home insurance covers that loss. The deductible is $1000. Not worth it unless the guy had taken the computers and TV's in the house.

Shoot that sucks. Sorry dude. Hope you're exceedingly blessed in other ways this Christmas.

Sorry, man. I've been there and it sucks.
At least you could probably turn this into a good sermon. Matthew 6:19-20.

That sucks, but at least they didn’t cut your wire harness, from what I can see anyway. You should be able to do a new install yourself.

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience last year. My old Camaro had a window broken out and a t-top panel stolen last year. Radio and mp3 player (on the passengers' seat!) were untouched. Either way, it's a sickening feeling to have something vandalized/stolen.

I find the fact that the guy had the audacity to come back a second time in one night to be the most interesting factor here. Did you try anything to help prevent a second strike? Such as calling the cops at the time, relocking the car, turning on more outside lights. things like that.
Also why did your brother think it was your father outside, that seems a bit odd. One would think he would know what his father looked like even in siloutte.
Sorry to hear that this happened and even more so that your deductible is so outrageously high. $1000.....yeech.

So did you get a new radio for Christmas or anything? I can't imagine being without music in the car... Sucks the big one my friend.

I didn't see anything. I just heard the door closing. We called the cops, locked the doors up, and I scared hiim away, when I opened up my cell phone to call 911.

man, that sucks. my radio got jacked a couple years back when i lived in michigan (back in the days when i had a car). it was a complete PIA to get it replaced.
hope you get a new one soon. it's painful to be without tunes while you're on the road.
