My brother wanted to hook my mothers video camera to her computer to make a webcam (he's in Arizona, she's in New York) so they can talk to each other and see one another. I bought the card adapter he asked me to but ran into a problem.

Her videocamera is analog, not digital (has the s-video output as well as one of those a/v outputs, no dvi).

In addition, Recently she bought a digital camera which I thought I could turn into a webcam but the camera does not support it.

So how would I:

1) Turn a analog videocamera into a webcam (what parts, software do I need)
2) if I cannot do 1, which Digital Camera would be best to turn into a webcam.

I've been trying to search online for this but I cannot seem to find the right website or tutorial for this.

Thanks in Advance.

Look at the bottom post in this link: http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82008

You can buy two webcams (USB2) for under $40, including shipping.

I want to avoid buying a webcamera. I am looking for a full fledged camera (5 Megapixels) that can also function as a video webcam.

OR:

A way to convert a analog video camera into a webcam.

You just need a video capture card that will hook up to the video recorder.

Any recommendation on video capture cards/software?
