has anyone bought this game yet? I am looking for another game for xbox, but im not a big fan of 3rd person shooters thought I might either buy this or go the rpg route and get fable

Glad you like it. I haven't played it yet myself. Fable's pretty solid though, so if you see it at a decent price I'd still pick it up. Decent amount of freedom in character building (weapon class/type, magic type, physical attributes, good/evil alignment...), lots of optional side quests and background objectives, and there's nothing quite like making an evil character and slaughtering entire towns. And decapitating people and kicking the heads. Off cliffs.
