Return of the Galaga Badges?

Anybody else notice that some people have on of the old-school Galaga badges next to their stars in their rank, i.e. Apex, sbp, etc? Can we ask for these or are they only for the "elite" members of G|A?

I think is has something signifying a post count or some special thing. I dont know if we qualify for the special honor.. We're a little low on the totem or rather post pole...
