In my mail today, there was a pair of "Admit Two" passes to an advanced screening of High Tension :wow:. I assume this is due to not being able to attend the Unleashed Screening :thumbdown :nono: . The return label was from Solomon Friedman Entertainment (SFE) loc: Downtown.

The Screening is: May 25, Wednesday @ 7pm AMC Mission Valley
yeah. i got a pass as well. Am a little dissapointed that this was our "consolation prize." I've never even heard of "High Tension" before. You'd think they could've sent us some passes for a higher profile movie like "unleashed" was... eh. It is free so I guess I shouldn't complain. But still...

Acutally, i saw the preview and it looks really good. I want to see it!! It's a main stream movie, and it looks like a very scary movie. I never have seen any previews for it or heard of it until I went to the websight!

PAIR OF PASSES TO THE ISLAND MOVIE PREMIERE AT PACIFIC GROSSMONT CENTER ON TUESDAY, JULY 19TH @7PM

Join 100.7 JACK FM for the premiere of "The Island" starring Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Djimon Hounsou, Sean Bean, and Steve Buscemi. Lincoln Six-Echo (McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid-21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the "The Island," reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie. He and all of the other inhabitants of the facility are actually human clones whose only purpose is to provide "spare parts" for their original human counterparts. Realizing it is only a matter of time before he is "harvested," Lincoln makes a daring escape with a fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Johansson). Pursued by the forces of the institute that once housed them, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a race for their lives to literally meet their makers. Rated: PG-13.

Answer: BENNIGANS

When David rented his quaint San Francisco apartment, the last thing he expected-or wanted-was a roommate. He had only begun to make a complete mess of the place when a pretty but decidedly controlling young woman named Elizabeth suddenly shows up, adamantly insisting the apartment is hers. David assumes there's been a giant misunderstanding... until Elizabeth disappears as mysteriously as she appeared. Changing the locks does nothing to deter Elizabeth, who begins to appear and disappear at will - mostly to rebuke David for his personal living habits in her apartment.

Good Night, and Good Luck
Thursday, October 20
7pm

The year is 1953, television is still in its infancy and the estimated broadcast journalist, Edward R. Murrow, anchors the popular news documentary show, See it Now, on CBS. Murrow, alongside producer Fred Friendly, oversees a show that reports on the news items of the day. He also hosts the talk show "Person to Person," yet "the face of television" is happiest as a news reporter.

The CBS TV newsroom is a constant hive of activity with secretaries typing, AP and UPI wires clicking away and the bustling of camera crews. Murrow has a dedicated crew of reporters that includes Don Hewitt, Joe Wershba, Palmer Williams, Jesse Zousmer, John Aaron, Charlie Mack and Eddie Scott. All these men will become broadcast legends, but right now, their careers are just beginning. They get together to screen the various topics of the day and discuss potential stories.

The Legend of Zorro
Wednesday, October 26
7pm

Answer: 6th @ Penn Theatre

Despite trying to keep his swashbuckling to a minimum, a threat to California's pending statehood causes the adventure-loving Alejandro de la Vega -- and his wife, Elena -- to take action. The child, who is refered to as little Joaquin, is clearly a boy. The confusion may have been caused by the baby's lacy sleepware, but that was the style of the period for all babies, regardless of sex. It has been six years since the last Zorro film. Now, he's back with an all new installment where he has been quietly settling with his own family in San Francisco. His little boy, Jouqauin, is now 10 years old and contains no information of his father's secret life. When these angry tyrants come with plans of their own, Zorro is called upon to save the day against his new nemesis, Armand. Elena will be in mask as the try aspiring wife and new partner of Zorro.

Win Passes to the Advance Screening of 'Pride & Prejudice!'

Based on Jane Austen's beloved novel, 'Pride & Prejudice' is the classic tale of love and values unfolding in 18th century England. Mr. Bennet is an English gentleman living in Hartfordshire with his overbearing wife and five daughters - the beautiful Jane, the clever Elizabeth, the bookish Mary, the immature Kitty and the wild Lydia. Their mother has raised all the Bennet daughters with one purpose in life: finding a husband. Unfortunately for the Bennets', if Mr. Bennet dies their house will be inherited by a distant cousin whom they have never met, so the family's future happiness and security is dependant on the daughters securing marriages with worthy suitors. Life is uneventful until a wealthy bachelor takes up residence in a nearby mansion and the Bennets are abuzz. Mr. Bingley brings with him his two sisters and the dashing (and richer) but proud Mr. Darcy; and among the man's sophisticated circle of friends, surely there will be no shortage of suitors for the Bennet sisters. But when Elizabeth meets up with the handsome and - it would seem - snobbish Mr. Darcy, the battle of the sexes is joined. For the Bennet sisters many trials and tribulations stand between them and their happiness, including class, gossip and scandal.

Win Passes to the Advance Screening of 'Bee Season!'
Enter today for your chance to win two passes to the advance screening of 'Bee Season!'

Eliza Naumann spells words. Lots of words. Hard words. Long words. And with an effortlessness and understanding that surprises everyone around her. Her teachers, her fellow students. But especially those closest to her: her father, mother and brother. The people whose lives Eliza's newfound genius will irrevocably change. 'Bee Season' is the kaleidoscopic portrait of a modern American family whose picture-perfect surface conceals an underlying world of secret turmoil.

As Eliza Naumann trains for the ultimate test of her spelling powers -- the pressure-packed National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C -- her family simultaneously begins to fall apart. Indeed the more amazing the words are that Eliza learns to spell, the more communication seems to break down all around her. Her father Saul, a religious studies professor, sees something transcendent in Eliza's magical gift, and begins to teach her the secrets of Kabbalah. He becomes obsessed with her victories, living vicariously through her path to God. Her mother Miriam finds Eliza and Saul's shared focus a painful reminder of the connection she once had with her husband and her own parents, who died tragically when she was a young girl. Meanwhile, Eliza's older brother Aaron, once her father's favorite, rebels against his withdrawal of affection, experimenting with other religions, and eventually seeking out a connection with a beautiful Hare Krishna. With her family disintegrating before her young eyes, it's up to Eliza -- and an unexpected act of selflessness and love -- to put the broken pieces of her world back together.

Hi! SpikeDig,
Here's my penny opinion about the movie.
It is a beautiful family movie over all:thumb:. I would say it is presented well but if you have friends, family members, who feel creepy with the sights of a SNAKE, then i won't recommend it. I know I use to live with one. On the other hand, if you go and watch it with your baby/ies:nono:, I don't think you would enjoy the movie because I sat beside one couple with a less than a year old. I don't have anything against babies, I use to have one that age, but as long as they're awake during the movie, forget it.

Enter today for your chance to win two passes to the advance screening of: KING KONG

'King Kong' is set in the 1930s and is the story of actress Ann Darrow (Watts), who comes from the world of vaudeville and finds herself lost in Depression-era New York. Although, her luck changes when she meets an over-ambitious filmmaker Carl Denham (Black) who is struggling to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Denham has a natural sense of showmanship and an appetite for greatness, which ultimately leads to catastrophe. Denham brings Ann, along with a group of explorers and documentary filmmakers, on an exploratory expedition to a remote island to investigate legends of a giant gorilla named Kong. Once there, they discover that King Kong is a real creature, living in a massive jungle where creatures from prehistoric times have been protected and hidden for millions of years. As the explorers search for the great ape, their quest puts them up against both Kong and his dinosaur enemies. Ultimately, it is the attention of Ann that soothes Kong long enough for him to be subdued by the explorers and shipped back to New York, where his bleak future involves being put on display in front of humans... but how long can shackles hold back an ape 25 feet tall? It is playwright Jack Driscoll (Brody) who falls in love with Ann and plays an unlikely hero in this romantic adventure story that will test his physical courage and his heart.

However--In what is always a very bad sign, Paramount has decided not to screen
"Aeon Flux" in advance for critics. This is usually a sign that the film will be an absolute stinker, and that they are trying to make a quick buck opening weekend before being savaged by the press.
per Rottentomatoes.comThis info comes from Gareth at Skewed & Reviewed, and can be confirmed by film critics across the country.Starring Charlize Theron, Marton Csokas, and Jonny Lee Miller, "Aeon Flux" has been delayed a few times, but will finally open this Friday with nothing in the way of new release competition. And despite the lack of press screenings, I know at least one movie critic who's still holding out hope that "AF" is a mindlessly entertaining action flick: me."

Oooh, no advanced screening for critics is a pretty bad sign. They also didn't screen the recent Usher movie "In the Mix" for critics.
