hey....any of you visited yosemite in late march/early april? i want to go there with inlaws but they can only do so during that time. is this a viable option. we would want to do several day hikes.

in fact i have. do you want to go to the upper or lower areas? upper area is usually full of snow until march so the later you go, the better. the waterfalls are kicking into high gear all through april and may in the valley and it is freaking gorgeous. bring your camera because you will want to remember it. being that you said late march you should be ok. not that snow is anything foreign to you, but they do close the upper areas when it starts to snow big up there.

so the brief answer is yes, this is a viable option and it is very beautiful that time of year. also, remember week days are much better than weekends. enjoy.

i've been there in may and september. may was awesome. the falls were incredible. september kinda sucked cuz there were no falls. amazing.

i'm just wanting to do the uppper and lower yosemite falls trail, glacier point, and the one around the dam. i know the road to the top of glacier point is closed until late but i don't need to drive up, just hike up the trail.

check out the bottom of this page (http://www.nps.gov/yose/trip/when.htm) from the Yosemite website. in March it can still get to freezing so there can still be snow. April is your better bet. Of course all of these numbers are averages and not absolutes. we'll probably head up there in May or June.

we're dependant on my SIL's schedule. we might go to moab instead.
