Flags @ half mast

As I went to lunch today I saw that flags were at half mast. Anyone know why? Have I missed some big news somehow?

it might be that a soldier or cop from GA was killed. that's what happens in michigan. it doesn't have to be a national event.

he was getting flack that other nations were flying their flags half-mast so he must've decided we should.
