my friednd worked at a walmart eye exam for a few months. He said getting one their isn;t any different than any other mass eye glass place. The person giving you the exam is an Optometrist. Like all big huge places, their appointment times are limited, and busy, so thy will give you the exam, but have to fit it within your alloted time.

My wife got one at Costco, they did a good job - probably no better or worse than any other chain optometrist store.
Also, I don't know about glasses, but the price for contact lenses at Costco is cheaper than even the shady internet dealers, and WAY cheaper than the 800-Contacts type places.

I go to WalMart, the guy who does the eye exams there has a regular practice elsewhere, it is just cheaper if you go to his office in WalMart. Nice guy, does a good job.

I was wondering the same thing a few months ago. Thanks for asking that question and thanks everyone for answering!

I've been happy with Wal-Mart optometrists.

Got my last eye exam and pair of glasses at Costco. It went fine. No complaints. Fairly cheap... I'll probably go back there when I need new glasses.

Contacts are VERY cheap at Costco. Especially if you buy the disposable ones.
Frames (glasses) are very cheap at Costco, but I was dissatisfied with the construction quality. I bought some half frames (the ones with frame up top and nylon string on the bottom of the lenses)... one of the nose pads broke off after about 5 months, and the nylon string on one side broke after about 8 months. Both repairs cost me.

its virtually the same
some people may have insurance issues with walmart or cost-co but as for quailfications of the person doing the exam
they ahve the same trainging but usually less experience then a clinical doctor
more of a stepping stone type job

All the people that I know have nothing but positive things to say about the costco ones, but don't know anything about the sam's club one.

I've used Wally World for my eye exams the whole time I was in school and they are perfectly fine. I also love their selection of frames.

I got my eyes examed at costco and then bought glasses at LensCrafters w/ coupon.
