Well I found out just now someone just made two internet charges with my old expired Discover Card. Wasn't too much. Almost $300 bucks at J Crew. So I called Discover and reported the fraud. I haven't used Discover in like 2 years and called and cancelled it more than a year ago. Someone was a little short on Christmas mone I guess. Hopefully everything will work out.

Hmmmm...what else is there to do. Got ad-aware and spybot for a while now and I updated all the time. Anti-virus is updated all the time. Zone Alarm updated and checked daily. I have a paper shredder that cuts up credit cards too. I guess I can call and get my free credit report but I didn't see anything unusual about this time last year. No unusaul activity on my other credit cards or bank account. Someone must have a lot of time to piece together cross-cut shreds of paper.

I wonder what they bought...

if you cancelled the card more than a year ago how were they still able to use it?

Beats the heck out of me. I remember cancelling it after I got my credit card from American Express Blue. I figured why do I need 3 different types of credit cards. So I cancelled my Discover one. Maybe they didn't actually cancel but they always sent me notices to renew and emailed me their newsletter.

I'm wondering if someone didnt intercept one of their offers and have your card reissued to them. There is no way an expired card would be let through so something sounds really really fishy to me.

Someone decided to spend about $900 at Walmart.com while using my cc this holiday season. Somehow they were able to call my cc company and CHANGE my billing address as well as my website login name and password.

Bastards. I'm very careful with my personal documents and had no spyware/viruses on my computer . . . my only thoughts are my wireless connection or they intercepted some mail recently regarding the change of my card from Fleet to BofA . . . maybe someone inside?

Man there must have been a ****load of identity theft this season. Someone jacked my sister's number and was making withdrawls in Madrid. Even after she cancelled her debit card they were making withdrawls. Hopefully you get your problems worked out.
