Mmm, the olives sound really good. I think I'll have to try that one. The relish I use is really good, not liquidy at all. I used to do the chopped pickle thing, but I decided that I'm too lazy for that.

Screw the mayo. I take mine plain, drained, and out of the can (packed in water ONLY), with maybe a leaf of lettuce on top if I've got any around.

I love tuna. One of my favorite foods. High in protien and fat free. I typically use it as a meal when I don't have much time for anything else or it is late at night. I'm pretty lazy and single so for me dinner often consists of opening up a can, draining it and just going at it with a fork.

Some minced garlic (fresh of course), celery, dill, a bit of onion, a couple of fresh slices of tomato, and some light mayo or miracle whip makes a great tuna sammich. I prefer the albacore tuna but I never passed up a regular tuna sammich unless it had a ton of onions in it. :) And I agree with whoever said it has to be on hot, toasted white bread. The difference in the temperature of the bread and the tuna adds something to the sammich. I do like to make tuna wraps too. Yummy. :lick:

I can't eat the stuff anymore..seems like everytime I used to open up the cans of tuna I'd find scales, and weird colored meat-(yeh, it was solid white albacore)..that grossed me out. But when I make for anyone else, I add mayo( Helllmans brand only)chopped bread and butter pickles, with a bit of the liquid from the pickle jar, and some celery. (and the only way I would eat it anyway was if it was accompanied by a bowl of cream of tomato soup -for dipping)
occaisonally though-I'm pick my way around some tuna and noodle casserole if I have to.

funny story... we all know tuna is pretty high in mercury. not so high that it's not okay to eat, but... my husband actually got a patient last month who got fo-real mercury poisoning because she had a tuna fish sandwich every single day for over 20 years. takes a while to build up, but with perseverance, you, too, can damage your cns with mere tuna...

Chicago-style Hot Dog (from The Wiener's Circle)
Ingredients:
1 Vienna beef hot dog
onions (chopped)
1 poppy seed bun
tomatoes (sliced)
1⁄4 dill pickle
hot peppers (2 whole)
cucumber slices (optional)
mustard
relish
celery salt
Directions: Boil the hot dog, steam the poppy-seed bun and top with mustard, relish, onions, tomato slices, pickle, hot peppers and a dash of celery salt. Now, truth be told, when I order a hotdog I usually get mustard, pickle, hot peppers and maybe onions if I'm not worried about offending anyone.

JULES Naw, I don't eat pork.

JULES I ain't Jewish man, I just don't dig on swine.
VINCENT Why not?
JULES They're filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.
VINCENT Sausages taste good. Pork chops taste good.
JULES A sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie. I'll never know 'cause even if it did, I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfu*ker. Pigs sleep and root in sh*t. That's a filthy animal. I don't wanna eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense to disregard its own feces.
VINCENT How about dogs? Dogs eat their own feces.
JULES I don't eat dog either.
VINCENT Yes, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
JULES I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy, but they're definitely dirty. But a dog's got personality. And personality goes a long way.
VINCENT So by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he's cease to be a filthy animal?
JULES We'd have to be talkin' 'bout one motherfu*kin' charmin' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres.

Tuna: I like the pouches, they're the same price at my local grocer. Easier for me and less time dealing with it for the cat to notice and come running. I also like hot toasted bread, and sometimes a slice of muenster cheese. I am not a fan of Miracle Whip though now that I partially live in the Midwest people here eat it a lot more, I've really never noticed it in SoCal.
Hot dogs: Favorite is definetly Hebrew National (They serve to a HIGHER authority). I like mustard and catsup. I can't do relish or onions or any of that on it. Sometimes just mustard, sometimes just catsup. With a good HN dog I can even eat it plain.
Of course, there's always franks and beans!
